Insurance Eligability Payout
The vehicle owner/driver is legally liable for your injury/death, you may be entitled to compensation if you are:
- A passenger
- A pedestrian
- A driver of a car or motorcycle only if another vehicle driver caused your injury
- A pedal cyclist
You will NOT RECEIVE an insurance payout if:
- You, the injured person, were totally at fault
- No-one was at fault – for example if the vehicle suddenly developed a mechanical fault, causing an accident, or an animal ran onto the road
- If you have not made your claim within the period required by law
- If the vehicle causing the injury was not insured and was on private property when the accident happened
- If you have been already compensated ( you can not be compensated twice)
